One of the featured wildlife attraction for several years running has been an elderly Grizzly sow (female Grizzly bear), simply known as "399" (her tag number.) She roams freely throughout Grand Teton NP, often near roads in order to avoid the more solitary boars (male grizzly bears) in the backcountry who would likely kill her cubs. 399's raised many cubs over the years and is seen frequently - here on May 28, 2014 (with two cubs close by but just out of view) near Pilgrim Creek. As of this caption edit (1/9/17) it is unknown to me whether she is still alive. Nikon D7100 and Nikkor 80-400G AFS VR lens at 400mm (600mm in FX).
