Similar view as the previous image but looking more to the east towards the Henry Mountains of Utah in the distance. The valley is part of Capital Reef NP. The Burr Trail ends in the valley here (one cannot see the road or the junction) where you either turn left and drive 40 miles along a gravel road north to join Route 24 in the main part of the park or you turn right and go another 30 miles or so (along more gravel road, of course) to the the town of Bullfrog which is at the north end of Lake Powell.
Make sure you have a full tank of gas before this adventure. It's beautiful here, but it's a bad place to break down or run short of gas. Nikon D700 and Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 lens at 60mm FX. September 27, 2012.
