There is plenty of interesting landscape to explore along the Burr Trail and in Long Canyon. One such place is a split in the canyon wall on the north side along the dry creek bed. This cave-like opening runs for about a 100 yards into the rock and dead ends. It is open to sky several hundred feet above you.
You can get a sense of the size of this cave-like feature by noting the relative size of the spectator (my spouse) in this image. The temperature was in the mid 80s outside the cave, but only in the 50s inside. Not a good place to be in a rainstorm as flash flooding would be likely.
