The butterfly enclosure is the centerpiece of the reserve and a great place to view many colorful butterfly species in residence there (some are illustrated in this gallery). Best viewed early in the morning before it get real hot as the butterflies are stationary in the cool morning air and easier to photograph. The enclosure is beastly hot and humid in mid day.
Staff are constantly at work, cleaning the enclosure and ensuring the health of the butterflies. They're also on the lookout for marauding spiders which invade the enclosure looking to feast on the butterflies. September 27, 2007. Nikon D200 + Nikkor 17-55 f/2.8 DX
