About Me

November 20, 2009, Mountain Tour in the Santa Juana Mountains in Costa Rica

Thank you for visiting my photographic collection and welcome. I am a retired, senior citizen photo enthusiast with a passionate interest in wildlife, nature and landscape photography. As an amateur photographer, I have a strong desire to learn and explore. The more I immerse myself in the pastime of photography, the more respect I have for those accomplished photographers who go to great extremes and brave the elements to "get the great shot." While my efforts pale in comparison to well-known professionals, it is nonetheless a special feeling when, for example, one has made an extraordinary effort to explore unique places, and, as a result, is consequently rewarded with the opportunity to capture a special image.

Photographers in this day and age are blessed to have at their disposal superb digital image and video capture equipment provided by several manufacturers like Nikon, Canon, Olympus and many others who provide the recording tools to capture amazing images ranging from close up macro shots to distant telephoto photographs. Since 2007 I have used a variety of excellent equipment by Panasonic, Nikon and Olympus. I am currently using the Olympus OMD-EM-1 Mark 2 exclusively with Olympus "Pro line" of lenses in the "Micro Four-Thirds" mirrorless format.

On this website I offer a brief story or caption under each image. The caption contains image background information and camera equipment used to create the image (you might have to 'scroll' down below the image to see them.) Image galleries are listed in sets of collections organized by subject matter and accessed from the menu above.

Please revisit from time to time as this collection is a work-in-progress as I explore new places and attempt to improve my image-taking and digital post processing skills.
